Death of John Blatna of Piasa

John Blatna, a well known former resideent of the Upper Alton-Fosterburg neighborhood, died last evening at 9 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Corey, in Girard. Mr. Blatna was visiting at the Corey home when he was stricken with his fatal illness.

The body will be brought to Alton to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Atkins in Upper Alton, tomorrow, and funeral services will be held from the Atkins home. On Friday after the services the body will be taken to Piasa for burial.

Blatna resided in this neighborhood for a long number of years, but has made his home in Piasa recently. Two months ago he was stricken with paralysis and when he recovered sufficiently to make the trip, he came to Alton to visit. Two or three weeks ago he went to his daughter's in Girard.
