SHIPMAN - William Blotna died Wednesday
at 9:40 a.m. at his home. He was born
Jan. 19, 1880, in Jersey County, a son of
the late John and Mary Blotna of Piasa.
He was a farmer in the Piasa community
for 25 years, retiring in 1945.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary
Blotna; two sons, Earl and George, of
Piasa; and one daughter, Mrs. Opal Myers
of Bunker Hill; six granddaughters and
one grandson, two sisters, Mrs. Etta
Bauer of Alton and Mrs. Mamie Hamelman of
Terre Haute, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at the
Methodist Church in Piasa Friday at
2 p.m. (CST). The body is at Jacoby Funeral
Home in Bunker Hill where friends may
call Thursday evening.
