Edward S. Shellhammer, 59, Elm Newark Valley, died at Wilson Memorial Hospital Monday after a long illness.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel Shellhammer, Newark Valley; two sons, Edward Shellhammer, Louise, Miss, and Leonard Shellhammer, Newark Valley, three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Maxine) Ballard, Newark valley, Mrs. Lawrence (Charlotte) Yetter, Apalachin and Mrs. James (Virginia Hyatt, Stratford, N.J.; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Smith and Mrs. Helen Labovsky, both of Jonhson City, Mrs. Ethel Rapp, Port Jervis and Mrs. Minnie Richy, Bloomfield, NJ., two brothers, Joseph Shellhammer, Newark Valley and Arthur Shellhammer, Endicott; 12 grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
He was an IBM employe for 30 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Methodist Church, Newark Valley. The Rev. Duane C. Butler will officiate.
Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery.
Friends may call at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley Thursday evening from 7 to 9.
