Deceased Name: Albert Allen Bruton Sr.; Civil Engineer
Albert Allen Bruton Sr., who operated his own steel erection business in St. Louis County for years, died Tuesday (Jan. 30, 1990) at Missouri Baptist Hospital-Wentzville. He was 88.
Mr. Bruton, of Cappeln in St. Charles County, was a licensed civil engineer. He operated his business from 1936 until 1960. He had previously worked in the steel and construction business as an iron worker.
Mr. Bruton was active in the Shriners Moolah Temple, for which he was a circus clown and guide at many Shriners circuses, and frequently portrayed Uncle Sam in parades. He was a former president of the St. Louis County Republican Club and was active in the Jennings Masonic Lodge, the Boone Country Garden Club and St. John's United Church of Christ in Cappeln.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 60 St. Johannes Lane, Cappeln. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the T.E. Pitman Funeral Home, 909 Pitman Avenue, Wentzville, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home followed by an Eastern Star service.
Among survivors are two sons, Albert, of Wright City and Wallace Favers of Vincent, Ariz.; two daughters, June Rose of Cappeln and Doreen of Chesterfield; one sister, Bessie Mae Heinrich of Jennings; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
