Mildred L. Jones, born April 29, 1920, passed away Wednesday,Jan. 10, 2007 at the Baptist Regional Medical Ceneter. Her late husband, Emerson R. Jones, preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2003. She was the daughter of James E. Petrey and Otie W. Petrey.

Mildred was a long-time member of the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. She joined the church Aug. 10, 1947. She was very active in many activities from that day forward in the church and community: a member of the WMU at the church, an assistant Sunday School teacher, secretary and treasurer, youth choir director with 40 participating young people. She was partial to singing and was blessed with much talent and enjoyment as she worked with young people. Her musical endeavors included singing in the Corinth Baptist Quartet for many years. Later, she joined the Corinthianaires Quartet, which traveled and sang at various churches throughout Kentucky and Ohio. With much gratitude, she contined serving God and never gave up her faith. She will be sadly missed by her family and her church family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Lenny Strunk officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
