A loving and devoted mother and grandmother who will be missed by her family and many friends, she passed away Wednesday morning, May 3, 2000, at her home. A resident of Baton Rouge, she was 78, born Feb. 18, 1922, at Grand River in Iberville Parish. She was a 1943 graduate of Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing, of which she was recently named Alumnus of the Year, and was a 1950 graduate of LSU. She was retired director of surgical services with more than 35 years of dedicated service atOur Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. A World War II veteran, she served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in England and Wales. She is survived by her two children, Gregory Martin Perdue and Jane Perdue Lepine; a son-in-law, William O. Lepine Jr.; and two grandsons, Nathan Lepine and Kyle Lepine. Preceded in death by her parents, Martin J. Felps and Maude Arnold Felps; a sister, Beulah F. Guidroz; and two brothers, Martin J. "Bud" Felps and James V. "Sonny" Felps. Visitation was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Visiting at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Ken Carroll. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Memorial donations may bemade to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, Our Lady of the Lake College School of Nursing or Our Lady of the Lake School of Surgical Technology.
