Morton was my grandfather. Morton moved to Oregon in about 1892. Morton met and married Agnes McArthur in Oregon. Agnes' father, David McArthur, also fought in the Battle of Stones River. He was wounded 7 times in the Civil War and the worst wound he got was at the Battle of Stones River. Had he died I would not be here writing this note!
