Roy Edward Berry Jr., 66, of Spring Church, passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born Jan. 20, 1945, in Freeport, the son of the late Roy Edward Sr. and Edna Fetterman Berry.

Before his retirement, he was employed as a subcontractor.

Roy was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the Army.

He was a loving father and grandfather.

Roy was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed time spent with his bowling team, Tees & Tops.

He was a member of the Vandergrift America Legion.

He is survived by eight sons, Tim Lookhart, of Oklahoma Borough, Dan Sylvis, of Apollo, Tom Lookhart and his wife, Bonnie, of East Vandergrift, Kenny Sylvis, of Rural Valley, Jim Lookhart, of Ford City, Roy Berry III, of Oklahoma Borough, Brad Berry, of Spring Church, and Irvin J. Berry and his wife, Erin, of Apollo; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathy Brown, of Cleveland, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy V. Lookhart, in 2006; four brothers, Fred, James, Ed, and Donald "Duck" Berry; and two sisters, Bertha and Bernice.

The family will receive friends from 5 until the time of service at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo. Services will be held at 8:30 p.m. with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating.

Interment will be private.
