Esther E. McKinney
Esther E. McKinney, 84, of 25th Street died at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Hickory Creek of Columbus.
Mrs. McKinney was an avid gardener and animal lover who cared for numerous stray animals.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.
Born in Jonesville May 17, 1919, Mrs. McKinney was the daughter of Francis and Mattie Thompson Ferguson. She married Marion L. McKinney June 19, 1937.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Young of Columbus; sisters, Mary Schrogham of Florida and Magdalene Kuhlman of Jonesville; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 9, 1977; and daughters, Donna Trittin and Nancy Ferguson.
