Elizabeth Compton was previously married to Wilson H Lower. She can be found as Lizzie Kyser as wife of Jacob Kyser in 1900 with Lower step chilren in house:
She has also been named Elizabeth Richey.

If this is all correct, Wilson Lower died while just prior to the birth of last Lower child. She was left a widow with family to care for and soon found marriage to Ross Kyser.
