She was born on September 13, 1927, to John B. and Susan R. (Gillen) Wieser in Nashville, Kansas. Mary grew up in Kansas and South Dakota, and she graduated from Wasta High School in 1945. She later graduated from the National School of Business to become a stenographer with the civil service.
Mary was united in marriage to Max J. Hoehn on September 13, 1949, in New Underwood. The couple then made their home in Rapid City.
Her first love was to cook for her family, especially during holidays. She also enjoyed sewing and playing cards with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter,a sister, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Max in April of 2011; her daughter, Pamela Simonson; a son, Randal Hoehn and 8 brothers and sisters.
Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Janusz Korban presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in Black Hills National Cemetery.
