The Abilene Reporter News, Monday, Dec., 23, 1957: Colorado City: Funeral will be held at 2pm Tuesday at Kiker and Son Chapel here for James Sam Curry, who died Saturday night at Seagraves Hospital, after several weeks' illness. He was 84. The Rev. Sam Ribble, retired Church of Christ minister from Lubbock will officiate. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery. Survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. Frank Roberts of Seminole, Mrs. Thurston Smith of Colorado City, and Mrs. Russell Cosper of Hartley; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
