Mary Ellen Curry-Pruit was the daughter of Alexander A. Curry and Amelia Worley Hart.

She married Samuel T. Pruit September 9, 1858 and had the following children:

Belle (Pruit) Gregg
Frances Pruit
William Joseph Pruit
Mary "Millie" Adeline (Pruit) Coffelt
Julia Elizabeth (Pruit) Mayes
Charles Thomas Pruit
Allan Pruit
Marion Wylie Pruit (my g-grandfather)
Martha Jane (Pruit) Ellis
Lillie Oquila (Pruit) Lindley
Samuel "Bud" Columbus Pruit

After her husband died in 1906, Mary Ellen Curry-Pruit stayed on the Pruit homeplace for several years, per my grandfather, Chester Pruit's, oral history of the family:

"She went ahead and ranched there, her and her youngest son, and then her other three sons was around close all the time for several years. Finally, the youngest son, he sold her out and went off out in the Silver City country."

After Chester told me this, I noticed that Mary Ellen Curry-Pruit is living with her son, Charles T. Pruit, by the 1910 census...so that fits with what he told me about selling Samuel's property.
