Father of Bertha (Thompson), Rose (Roediger), Kate (Witt), John and George, Jr., all buried in Highland Cemetery, also Josephine (Manley), Anna (Callahan), and Mary (McCormick). Husband of Johanna Zimmerman, 1842-1937, (same headstone). Married in 1869 in Cuyahoga, Ohio, they set out by covered wagon for a homestead in Kansas with their first-born, Mary, born 1870. Settled in the Upland area and raised their family in the area. George Oegerle died of appendicitis in 1905. Johanna lived with daughters in Miami, Florida in her last years - Josephine Manley and Anna Callahan - where she died in 1937. Those daughters are buried there.
