Dorothy G. Pelino, 90, of New Kensington, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, in Applewood Personal Care Home, Brackenridge. She was born in Arnold, June 21, 1921, to the late Edward A. and Mabel Van Dom Jackson. She lived all her life in the local area. She was the owner and proprietor of Tileos Pizza Shop in Arnold. Dorothy enjoyed crossword puzzles and sports, especially the Steelers and Pirates, with a special memory of Bill Mazeroski hitting a home run on Oct. 13, 1960. She was a member of the Greater Beneficial Union of Pittsburgh. Survivors include her sons, Nicholas C. (Ruth) Pelino Jr., of Buena Vista, Colo., and Raymond E. (Mary Ann) Pelino, of Plum Borough; daughters, Dolores M. (John) Lucjak, of Leechburg, and Mary Margaret Kovalchick, of New Kensington; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Dot) Jackson, of New Kensington; sisters, Margaret Adams, of New Kensington, and Frances Bitner, of Lancaster; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Pelino; a son, William G. Pelino; brother, Eugene Jackson; and a sister, Betty Williams. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the RUSIEWICZ OF ARNOLD FUNERAL HOME, 1400 Fifth Ave., where prayers of transfer will be said at 11:30 a.m., followed by Christian Funeral Mass at noon in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
