Washington – Irma L. Weaver, 86, of Washington passed away at Methodist Medical Center on Thursday November 17, 2011 at 11:45 PM. She was born on January 19, 1925 in Elkhart County, Indiana to Samuel and Mattie Anderson Frey. She married Kenneth Weaver on April 9, 1942 in Jasper County, IN. He survives. Also surviving are four sons; Duane (Carole) of Bloomington, IL, Douglas (Mary) of Albuquerque, NM, Rodney (Karen) of Gettysburg, PA ,and Gregory in Redmond, WA; one daughter Beverly (Ron) Riggins in Washington; two sisters, Ada Fecht in Washington and Elizabeth Stevens in Elkhart, IN;1 step-sister, Regina Frey; 2 step-brothers, Norman (Judy) Frey, and Lamar (Genie Ann) Frey; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was active in her church, Metamora Mennonite for more than 60 years. She served many years there as a librarian and was a member of the same Bible study group for 30 years. Her lifelong love of reading was instilled in her children and grandchildren. Friends may visit the family at Metamora Mennonite Church from 3-5 PM on Sunday November 20, 2011. There will be a private burial service for the family at Hickory Point Cemetery on Monday with a memorial service following at the church at 11 AM. Pastor Michael Danner and Associate Pastor Ada Nofsinger will officiate. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is handling arrangements.
