Mr. Charles Henry English was born in Clay County, Mo, March 9, 1843, and departed this life December 10, 1918, in Iola, Kas., after eight days of patient suffering with Bright's disease of which he had suffered more or less for a number of years. He had lived in Kansas 31 years and had made his home in Iola the past thirteen years where he formed a wide circle of friends who will sadly miss him.

He was married to Miss Henrietta Keyser Nov 5, 1868, and to this union were born eight children, three of whom died in infancy. Those who survive are Charley of Seattle, Wash.; Bert and Robert, Iola, Kas.; Louise Sheets, Tonkawa Okla.; and Mrs. Goldie Culver, of Colony, Kas.; all being at his bedside when he passed away, except Charley, who was not able to come. He had been a member of the U. B. church at C___ry Mound, Kansas, since 1895, but he had never transferred his membership to them. Besides his faithful wife and children he leaves 21 grandchildren; and one great grandchild to mourn his death.

Funeral services were held at the home, 316 South Third, at 3 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by E. N. Rumbaugh.
