Felix Bernard Cassidy

Felix Cassidy, died at he Wilkes-Barre General Hospital at 7 a.m., on May 16, 1929 o Chronic Myocarditis at the age of 55.

Felix was the son of Thomas F. Cassidy and Bridget Cecelia Murphy. Felix Bernard Cassidy was born on November 4, 1874, at Dunlop street, Tollcross, Lanarkshire county, Scotland, LDS has him being baptized at Shettleston, Lanark, Scotland on November 10, 1874.

Emigrated from Scotland with his father, mother and brother - Thomas M. Cassidy, when he was 7 months old. on 7-29-1875 they arrived in New York at Castle Gardens on the U.S.S. Utopia.

He married Anna Gallagher on 21, 1900. Served in the Spanish American War U.S. Army - Bat E Regt. Pa. Ind. Resided in Plymouth, then moved to 278 Rutter Avenue, Kingston.

He was in a rock drilling contest, on 9-12-1912 in Plymouth. His partner was David J. Ashton, Simon Carpenter and Michael McGinley won.

Deceased was a native of Larksville where he spent the greater portion of his life.

He was a a man of quiet and unassuming disposition.

He is survived by his wife and five children; Francis Cassidy, Alphonso Cassidy, Agnes Cassidy and Robert Cassidy. His mother Mrs. Cassidy, Larksville, and the following brothers and sisters also survive; Thomas Cassidy, John Cassidy, WIlliam Cassidy, Larksville; Mrs. Frank Kline, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Howard Trainor, Chester; Mrs. Water Simpson, Mrs. John Heffernan and Mrs. Thomas Jones, Philadelphia.

NOTE: Felix B. Cassidy has a military alias of Frank B. Connor, found from military record - Veterans Compensation Application.

FUNERAL:

The funeral of Felix former resident of Larksville, will be held on Monday morning at 9 from the family home, 278 Rutter Avenue, Kingston. The remains will be taken to St. Ignatius Church, Kingston, where a requiem high mass will be celebrated at 9:30.

BURIAL;

Deceased was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and military honors were conferred upon the remains when his former comrades attended the services and conducting the military ritual. The services were in charge of George Meredith Chaplain, and taps at the grave, were sounded by Herman Rich. Mr. Cassidy was also known to hundreds of friends in Plymouth and Larksville who gathered to honor his memory. Many floral tributes also attested the esteem and regard with which he was held. The firing squad comprised, William Burke, Lincoln Saunders, Joseph Primer, Joseph Splsak, Stephen Zapka, Michael Cauyuch, and Blakely Barber.

Interment in St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery, Larksville.
