SERVICES HELD FOR DR. CARROLL BOGGS

Dr. William Carroll Boggs, 72, retired physician of Moorefield and native of Pendleton County, died unexpectedly January 16 at his home.

Dr. Boggs received his, A, B, and B.S. degrees from West Virginia University and his medical degree from University of Maryland in 1931.

He did post graduate work in dermatology in New York City and was a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Academy in dermatology. Dr. Boggs had practiced in Wheeling 42 years until 1972 when he retired and moved to Moorefield.

Dr. Boggs was a veteran of World War II, a member of county, state and national medical societies, member, elder and trustee of Moorefield Presbyterian Church; a Mason and a member of John M. Golliaday Post 64, American Legion.

A native of Franklin, he was a son of the late William M. Boggs and Beatrice (Hiner) Boggs.

Surviving are his widow, Louise (Chipley) Boggs; a son William D. Boggs, with the foreign service in Canberra, Australia; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Lee Charles, Ann Arbor, Mich; a brother, Dr. Hunter Boggs, Charleston; and five grandchildren. A brother Charles H. Boggs, of Franklin died January 14.

Graveside services were conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Olivet Cemetery by the Rev. Bruce A. Macbeth.
