Oscar B. Jordan, Sr.
Oscar B. Jordan, Sr., 91, of Mount Alto, WV died Monday, February 22, 1993, at home.
He was a retired farmer and a former employee of the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle Church and an avid fox hunter.
Born February 18, 1902 in Mason County, he was a son of the late James B. and Laura (Davis) Jordan.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. (Riffle) Jordan; two brothers; a sister; a grandson; and a foster son.
Survivors include two daughters, Beatrice Rollins of Leon, and Reca Plantz of Point Pleasant; six sons, Wallace and Sherman both of Leon, Lyle and Oscar B. Jr., both of Mt. Alto, Lawrence of Columbus and Kenneth of Middleport; two sisters, Ruth Wilson of Circleville, Ohio and Juanita Mattox of Mt. Alto; 28 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Jordan and Rev. Kenneth Durst officiating. Burial will be in Blaine Memorial Cemetery in Cottageville.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight (Tuesday) from 6-9 p.m.
