August Asman passed away at 1 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital following a 10 day illness. Age 96 years. He was born October 12, 1865, in Russia, and came to America 69 years ago. On April 15, 1892, he married Anna Zevodek in Saginaw. She predeceased him September 28, 1943. He was a charter member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, also of the Lutheran Fraternities of America, Local No. 41. In 1937 he retired from the Pere Marquette Railway. Surviving are four daughters and four sons, Mrs. Albert Berka, Mrs. Weldon C. Taylor, Mrs. Henry Beamish, Miss Ottilie Asman, Ernest G., Edward W. and Emil E. Asman, all of Saginaw; Fred J. Asman, Detroit; seven grandchildren....burial in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery....
