Bergstrom was born in Winnipeg, Canada July 19, 1913. He married Palma Oistad Nov. 16, 1935 at Strandquist. They later moved to Montana, Baudette, Littlefork and to Kelliher in 1945. He was a buttermaker and in 1962 began work as a carpenter and did refrigeration work. For two years he worked in Shakopee building houses.
Bergstrom served on the Kelliher School Board, and was fire chief in Kelliher for 11 years, and a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church board for sever years.
He is survived by his wife; three sons; five brothers: Roger, Bemidji; Luman, Omak, Wash.; Dwight, Olympia, Wash.; Archie, Puyallup, Wash.; Philip, Sartell; six sisters: Violet (Mrs. Roy) Miller, Princeton; Eleanor Hamman, Santa Paula, Calif.; Mildred Riech, Bentura, Calif.; Amy (Mrs. Dan) Gerla, Boise, Idaho; Zella (Mrs. Bernard) Pfitzer in Calif.; and Jeanette (Mrs. Ralph) Parks, Okanogan, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, one sister, and one son, John.
