Mrs. Mary Settle
Dies Yesterday
Complications Fatal
To Woman, age 90
Mrs. Mary E. Lanam Settle, 90, passed away Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Hall, seven miles south of town. Mrs. Settle had been in failing health for several months due to complications of advanced age.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God church in Harrodsburg. Interment will be in the Goshen cemetery in Brown county. Rev. Howard Pratt and Rev. W. C. Chafin will officiate.
Survivors include two sons, Glen and Oliver Lanam, Monroe county; three daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Campbell, Greenwood, Indiana, Mrs. Rheba Stewart, Lawrence county, and Mrs. Sadie Shields, Monroe county, and 20 grandchildren.
A native of Bartholomew county, she was born there on October 25, 1856 to George and Elizabeth Heckman. She was reared in Brown county and had spent most of her lifetime there. She was a member of the Harrodsburg Assembly of God church.
The remains have been removed from the Day funeral home to the home of her son, Glen Lanam, eight miles south of town.

Interment was in Clover Hill cemetery. Pall bearers were Edwin Campbell, Edwin Bennett, Lowell Campbell, Chester and Howard Brummett, and Grant Stewart.
