Miss Blanch E. Tuhey, 69, retired Central High School English teacher, died Friday at her home, 2024 W. Main St. A Muncie native, she was the daughter of Edward Tuhey, twice mayor of Muncie, and Mary (McKinley) Tuhey, and a sister of H. Arthur Tuhey, also mayor of Muncie for two terms.

She was a graduate of Muncie High School and DePauw University, she took graduate work at the University of Colorado, University of Michigan, and Columbia University. Following her retirement in 1965, Miss Tuhey tutored many foreign students.

Miss Tuhey was a member of College Avenue Methodist Church, and a past president of its Women's Society of Christian Service. She also was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and Delta Kappa Gamma and Pi Lambda Theta honoraries.

Survivors in addition to her brother are two sisters, Mrs. Erman Fillman, Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Nell Krug, Los Angeles, Calif.; two other brothers, J. Edward and Fred M. Tuhey, Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Meeks Mortuary from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and until services at 2 p.m. Sunday in the mortuary. Rev. Donald Barnes, pastor of College Avenue Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery at 9 a.m. Monday.
