William Sollars was born in 1803 in Ross County, Ohio to Ignatius and Elizabeth (Truman) Sollars. He married Eliza Grant on December 30, 1828. They were the parents of Roland, Truman, Nancy, Juley, Charles, William, Malinda, Ursula, and James. William died on September 10, 1854 of cholera on the same day as daughter Juley Ann and son Truman.
