He married Mary Waggoner on 1 March 1821. They were the parents of Cynthia Ann, William, Elizabeth, Sarah, Simon Oliver, and Solomon.
In the construction of the Camanche Dam, there were several cemeteries that were removed to other locations after all information was recorded that was found on existing tombstones. The record made for Camanche Cemetery where Azariah Sollars and other family members were buried, has Azariah's date of death as "Mar. 1, 1880." This, however is an error as it should read "correctly" as "March 1, 1870."
His gravestone had fancy ornate script on it where the 7 had a fancy tail that curved up around almost like an 8. Someone quickly reading and recording stones could err, but a careful reading shows the "8" in 1870 is clearly different than the "7."
