Christina Grothaus Dies Here Sunday

Mrs. Christina Grothaus, 81, a resident of Adams county (sic) since 1885, died at 3:45 o'clock Sunday afternoon at her home, 716 north (sic) Colorado.

She was born April 8, 1858, in Germany. Survivors include two sons, John and Harry of Hastings; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Eischen and Mrs. Minnie Placke, both of Ayr, Lydia Forrett of Daugherty, Ia., and Miss Elizabeth Grothaus of Hastings; 17 grandchildren; four great grandchildren, one brother, Jacob Schatz of Hastings, and one sister, Anna of Germany.

Prayer service will be held Wednesday at the Livingston Brothers chapel, beginning at 1:30 o'clock. Funeral rites will be held at the Lutheran church seven miles southwest of Hastings, with Dr. F.C. Schuldt and the Rev. Walters officiating, beginning at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
