Mr. Robert J. Donaldson, age 70, died Friday morning at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility.

The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was the owner/operator of Gay & Marsh Service Station/ Donaldson Brothers Service Station for many years. He sold used cars all of his life and at the time of his retirement in 2005, he was the oldest used car dealer in Statesboro.

Additionally Mr. Donaldson owned and operated several businesses during his career. He enjoyed his family and spending time riding his golf cart.

Mr. Donaldson was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Edwin Donaldson; his parents, Gordon and Wilma Lee Akins Donaldson; two sisters, Frances Wilson and Mary McBride and a brother, Edwin Donaldson.

Mr. Donaldson was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, June Cowart Donaldson; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry "Bo" and Deana Donaldson; a grandson, Andrew Donaldson and a granddaughter, Cassie Donaldson and a brother, Charles Ellis all of Statesboro; his "adopted sons", Brad Martin, Peter Gauthier and Greg Lee.

Funeral services will be in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Creel and Rev. Tom Osborne officiating. Interment will be in the Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wendell Ellis, Peter Gauthier, Benje Donaldson, Greg Lee, Mike Wilson and Jamey Ellis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Fordham, Robert Walker, Robert Blackburn, Carl Hendrix, Loyell Baughn and Rick Wilson.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Ga. 30459.
