Lon (as he was known by family and friends) was the son of Isaac Lavadie Tucker and Martha Ann Abbott, and the 2nd-oldest of their 7 children. The above birth date is from his Social Security records, and his draft cards for both World Wars, but the date on his death certificate is 20 August 1899 (which is wrong since Lon wasn't listed in the 1900 census, and his parents only had one child in that census).

He married Mary Ellen Tyree in 1925, and they were blessed with two known children, sons Carl Winfred and Elmer Wyatt (the latter was named after Lon's youngest brother Elmer). Some time before 1942, Lon lost his right arm. below the elbow, but that didn't stop him from giving great hugs!

[Note: The middle name of Lon's father is found with various spellings, such as Lavade, Lavada Levadie, etc.]
