Carl was the son of Lawrence Carl "Lon" Tucker and Mary Ellen Tyree, and was the oldest of their two known children. The above birth date is from his death certificate and World War II draft card. His burial plot is currently unmarked.
He was a Virginia native, and was raised mostly in Alleghany and Botetourt counties of VA. He was a Merchant Marine for many years, and was working in the construction industry when he passed away. Carl never married, and had no known children.
He survived his father's death (1981), but he preceded his mother in death... in other words, Mary buried her husband and one of her two children. It's a very sad day when a mother has to bury her child! Besides Mary, Carl was survived by his brother, Elmer Wyatt Tucker, 4 nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.
