Morning Call, 6 Jul 1945, page 12:
An embolism which developed the day she was to be discharged from the hospital, yesterday, caused the death at the Allentown Hospital of Mrs. Emaline , nee Gressley, widow of Robert S. Angstadt of Mertztown R.1.
She was admitted 16 days ago for surgical treatment.
Born in Longswamp township, she was a daughter of the late Jonathan and Emma, nee Geist, Gressley, and was 60 years old.
She was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran church. Her husband died 10 years ago.
Survivors are the following children, Eva Angstadt, at home; Hele, wife of Arthur Wessner, Kutztown R.2; Corporal Ernest Angstadt, enroute home from service in Italy; Woodrow and Harold, both at home. Two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Katie Guldin, Topton, and Mrs. Charles Bortz, Fleetwood, also survive.
Funeral services will be held at the DeLong Funeral home, 107 S. Home St., Topton, on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Further services in New Jerusalem church with Rev, Wilson H. Hartzell officiating. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.
