Edward Augustus Andrews was born on 5 Oct 1910 in Powell, Bradford Co., PA to Paul Leon Andrews and Bessie Curns Andrews. He was born on the farm that his great grandfather Emery Augustus Andrews established in 1871. Ed graduated from Lock Haven High School in Clinton Co., PA and from Albright College in 1933 with a BA in Education. Ed was an athlete and excelled in basketball, track and football. Upon graduation he took a job teaching in High Bridge, NJ. It was here that he met a teacher named Louise Schaaf and the two were married in 1936. They took new teaching positions in Lawrence, Nassau, NY and lived in Inwood, New York. Janice was born in 1939 and Wayne in 1945. In 1949 Ed received his MA in Educational Administration from New York University and was soon promoted to Principal of PS #4. He retired from that position in 1972 and Ed and Louise retired to Monroe, NC. In 1982 they moved to DeLand where daughter Janice and her husband Peter LaRosa lived. Ed died 5 Dec 2005.
