Dorothy Jean Sollars, 83, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Grandma was born August 26, 1928 in Wathena, Kansas to Joseph Edward and Emma Catherine (Jones) Redmond. She married my Grandfather, Clarence E. Sollars, Jr. on August 2, 1947 in Wathena, he preceded her in death on June 5, 2003 after 55 years of marriage.
Grandma was a manager of retail sales for Mode-O-Day Dress Shop at the East Hills Shopping Center. She was also the proprietor of Beacon of Life Bible Shop which she ran out of the basement of her home.
Grandma was a faithful attendee of First Baptist Church of Savannah and a member of Todd Community Club. She loved to read and enjoyed sewing.
Her parents; and two brothers, Joseph and Wallace Redmond, as well as her beloved dog, Gus.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Savannah Senior Citizens Center or First Baptist Church in Savannah.
