Clarence Sollars was a Navy Frogman aboard the USS Enterprise during WWII participating in 14 major battles. He received a Presidential Citation & was a Purple Heart recipient. Clarence was a Firefighter for the city of St Joseph retiring as Fire Inspector after 22 years. He then worked for American National bank for 10 years and St Joseph State Hospital for 12 years in fire and safety. Mr. Sollars was a member of Maxwell Heights Presbyterian Church, Brotherhood Lodge #269, A.F. & A.M, a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason & a member of the NRA. He was President of Firefighters Union Local #77 and a member of the Retired Fireman's Association. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved his dogs. Clarence enjoyed spending 4th of July's at the family cabin at Lake Contrary.
