Eva was the third of Walter Robert & Linnie Bell (Roberson) Preston's four children. Her siblings were: John (who died young), Edgar "Fatty" Smith, & Paskel "Pack" Lee.
Eva grew up in Yarnaby, OK. When time allowed, she enjoyed the company of Jessie and Bill Dodson, an aunt and uncle, children of her grandmother, Cynthia Dodson. Her father, Walter, was Cynthia's son by her first marriage to John Preston. Jessie and Bill were Cynthia's children by her second husband, George Dodson.
Her mother died when she was 15 years old, and she took over most of the housekeeping chores. Almost two years later, on Feb. 6, 1931, she married Edgar Bill Baker.
Thanks to Eva & Edgar's daughter, Patricia Ann Williams, for providing the names of her brothers and sisters. They are: Edgar Bill Jr., Betty Jo, Billy Gene (deceased at 3 months in 1942), David Lee, and Jenny Lynn.
