Della Louise Bruce, 73, of Leicester, passed away October 26, 2011.
Mrs. Bruce was born December 7, 1937 in Buncombe County where she lived all of her life. She was a lifelong member at Trinity Baptist Church. Della worked in the nursery at church for 23 years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to all who knew her.
Della is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Rosalee Redmon Austin; and sister, Beatrice Jenkins.
Mrs. Bruce is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Billy Bruce; children, Eugene Bruce and wife, Wendie, Keith Bruce and wife, Brenda, and Brenda Bruce-Austin and Kelly all of Leicester; sisters, Ruth Adams of Weaverville, and Vickie Jennings of Fletcher; and five grandchildren, Jonathan, Donna, Dena, Emily, and Colton.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church with the Reverends Ralph Sexton, Jr., Allen Rash, Jerry Young and Donnie Walker officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside Services will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Trinity Baptist Church, Building Fund, 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
