Jean Tiffany Markowski, 71, of 115 Wilshire Road, Geddes, died Monday at her home A native of Brooklyn, Mrs Markowski lived in the Syracuse area 50 years She was director of girls' detention housing for Onondaga County from 1947 to 1957 Mrs. Markowski was a music teacher at several area schools, including Sacred Heart and St. Lucy's schools and the Westhill Central School She was a 1940 graduate of Syracuse University Mrs. Markowski was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, and a member of its Mothers Club and Sacred Heart School's Parent Teachers" Association She also served on the Citizen's Committee to Develop the Westhill School District.
Surviving are her husband, Adam, two daughters, Jan Wurzer of Fort Erie, Ontario, and Judy Caputo of Glens Falls; a son, Joel of New Hartford, Conn, two sisters, Marge Smith of Brooklyn and Dons Gere of North Syracuse, two brothers, William and Robert Tiffany, both of Brooklyn, eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews Services will be at 10 a m Wednesday at Giminski-Wysocki Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Brooklyn.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p m today at the funeral home, 1320 W. Genesee St.
