Mrs. Mary Magdalene Lester, age 64, of the Lynn Spring section of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Friday (October 1, 2010)
in a Kingsport, Tennessee hospital. Born November 22, 1945 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of Lucy Evelyn Street Dye
of Swords Creek and the late James Edward Dye. A lifelong resident of the area, she was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of forty-seven years, Virgil Lester of the home; two sons, Randy Lester and
his wife, Rhonda Kay Compton Lester of High Point, North Carolina and Rodney Lester of the home; four sisters, Arbutus Dye and
her husband, Perry, Rosie Hubbard and her husband, Danny, and Helen Whited and her husband, Ellis all of Swords Creek, and
Delia Mae Spencer and her husband, Fairley of Honaker; four brothers, Chester Dye and wife, Nancy, Lee Dye and wife, Linda,
Cecil Dye and wife, Shelia, and Tommy Dye and wife, Marlene all of Swords Creek; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Kyle
Ratliff officiating. Interment will follow in Dye Cemetery at Swords Creek, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Dallas Dye, Doug Dye, Gary Hubbard, Joe Dye, Terry Whited, and Rafty Dye.
Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Dye, Danny Hubbard, Ellis Whited, and Stevie Hess.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Saturday.
