Sarah Alice Dockery, 87, of Pisgah Forest died Monday, April 22, 1996, in a Transylvania County hospital.

A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Ella Mae Derreberry Postell and the wife of the late Nathan Dockery, who died in 1971.

Surviving are a daughter, Doris Wilson of Andrews; three sons, Therman Dockery of Pisgah Forest, NC, Carl Dockery of Mooresville, NC, and Johnny Dockery of Lakeland, FL,; three sisters, Lou Ellen Bradley of Zofo Springs, FL, Leona Campbell of Robinsville, and Leora Roper of Andrews; three brothers, Marvin Postell of Andrews, Garland Postell of Mineral Bluff, GA, and Gerald Postell of Chattanooga, TN; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Thursday, April 25, in Blantyre Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest. Revs. Ray Moritz, Cecil Fox, and Jerry Dockery officiated. Graveside services were held Thursday in Valleytown Cemetery.

Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of local arrangements.
