Marvin had worked at Baker's Furniture as a repairman. He was a member, deacon, and former church clerk of Red Marble Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Thomas Henry and Ella Mae Derreberry Postell and the husband of the late Grace Mae Dockery Postell, who died July 26, 2002. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Graveside services were held in the Valleytown Cemetery.
