Wife of Charles

Mrs. Elizabeth Wright, widow of the late Charles Wright, and mother of Trustee Wright, of Lauramie township, died at her residence near Clark’s Hill, at 12:15 Thursday morning, January 24th , with a complication of diseases incident to old age. She was 72 years of age, and among the oldest residents of Lauramie township. Her family were all present at her last illness, except one daughter, Mrs. Dr. Chenoweth, of Carterville, Mo. She leaves one son and three daughters - G. A. Wright, of Clark’s Hill; Mrs. Luther Lucas, of Sheffield township; Mrs. V. C. Fuller, of Frankfort, Clinton county, and Mrs. Dr. Chenoweth of Carterville, Mo., besides a number of grandchildren and friends to mourn her loss. She was a loving wife and mother, honored and respected by all who knew her. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Frank Cones of Thorntown, at the M. E. church in Clark’s Hill. The pall-bearers were S. K. Richards, T. G. McKee, H. A. McIntyre, B. F. Washburn, John Rogers, and William McCombs. The remains were followed by a large procession to the Campbellite cemetery and deposited beside her beloved companion who had preceded her to the beyond.
