Charles Wright died very unexpectedly at his residence near Clark's Hill last Saturday. He had left the city but a few days before, after serving on the regular jury in the Circuit Court, and was in the best of health and spirits. He called at this office to renew his subscription to the Weekly Courier which he has read for twenty years. The smile upon his genial face, together with his fine physique, becokened long life. But death was remorseless and struck him down without warning. Mr Wright was an Englishman. He came to this locality many years ago. His farm is near Clark's Hill. He leaves an estimable wife and large family, all but two or three of his children being grown. Mr Wright has never held office but has always discharged his duties as a citizen with fidelity. He was a very popular man. He was the soul of honor. He was a natural born gentleman. Rev T S Guthrie preached the funeral sermon.
