Born Jul 11, 1907, in Hardy County, she was the daughter of the late Ashby and Edith (Coffman) Mongold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W Cox in 1983.
Mrs Cox was a member of the Brake Church of the Brethren, Dorcas.
Surviving are four daughters, Nancy Givan, Dorcas, Polly Alt, Petersburg, Anna Lee Bible, Maysville, Mary Mauzy, Dorcas; two sons, Junior W Cox, Winchester, Va and C Wayne Cox, Manassas, Va; one sister, Ethel Burgess, Maysville; one brother, Homer Mongold, Moorefield; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, with the Rev Paul Donaldson and the Rev Richard Longbon officiating. Interment was in the Lahmansville Cemetery.
