Grover J. Mongold, age 78, of Pine Ridge Rd., Wardensville, Wv, formerly of Moorefield, WV passed away October 6, 1998 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born Jan. 5, 1920 on Wolfe Mountain, near Bass, Wv, he was the son of the late Ashby D. and Ollie (Wolfe) Mongold. He was preceded in death by one son and one brother. Mr. Mongold was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Hardy County.
Surviving is his wife, Virginia (Myers) Mongold; one daughter, Debbie Combs of Wardensville; one half brother, Homer Mongold of Moorefield; three sisters, Edna Kibler and Nellie Miller of Moorefield and Pauline Cook of Romney; one half sister, Ethel Burgess of Petersburg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, October 9, 1998 at teh Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield with Jimmy Stump officiating. Burial followed at the Newhouse Cemetery in Rig, WV.
Pallbearers were Stanley Cook, Jay Combs, Dustin Orndorff, Bradley Dyer, James Combs, Curtis Miller, J.R.Keplinger and Roger Miller.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Fraley Funeral Home in Moorefield, WV.
