Loran H. Dean, 89, of Port Lavaca, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011. He was born on Jan. 12, 1922, in Seadrift, to the late Thomas Franklin and Maggie Hettie Coward Dean. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was retired from Union Carbide.
Loran is survived by his wife, Loretta Smith Dean of Port Lavaca; daughters, Cindy Dean (Eric) Brookhouser of Victoria, Nancy (Grant) Brown of Austin, Connie Dean (Glynn) Behrend of Gonzales, and Kerrie Ann Dean Adams of Gonzales; son, Dwayne (Monica) Wise of Port Lavaca; 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Lynn Dean; sisters, Corrine Dean August and Lola Mae Dean Minson; and brother, Wendel Dean.
