Florence Mae Dalton, 87, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away in Bedford, TX on Wednesday, April 20, 2005.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Greenlawn Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Bill Sherrill. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Checotah. Florence was born on August 21,1917 in Fame, OK to Harrison and Myrtle (Williams) Winton. She spent her childhood years in Oklahoma and attended college in Tahlequah. She taught school for many years in Oklahoma. She then relocated in California where she taught school until retirement. After retirement she moved back to Oklahoma and then moved to Texas. She was a member of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class of the Checotah First Baptist Church while living in Oklahoma.
She is survived by two daughters, Alice Kaye Syblon of Bedford, TX, Tommye June Ledbetter of Steamboat Springs, CO, two sons-in-law, William H. Syblon and Paul Q. Ledbetter, two grandchildren, William A. Syblon and Alexandria Dobson, both of Bedford, TX. She is also survived by two sisters, Alma Liles of Checotah and Helen Leary of Pismo Beach, CA. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vance Dalton, two brothers, James (Buddy) and R.J. Winton.
Family prefers donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
