Moberly (MO) Weekly Monitor, May 28, 1909- R. L. Alexander and H. Pagett, two well known Monroe county gentlemen, were in Moberly today enroute to Kansas City where they will have cancers removed from their faces. This is the second time Mr. Alexander has had to have a cancer removed from his face and is Mr. Pagett's first time. Mr. Pagett is the father of J. F. Pagett, of this city. A. L. Briscoe, also of Monroe county, accompanied the two gentlemen to Kansas City and will remain with them while they are in the hospital.

Obituary- Madison (MO) Times, Mar. 9, 1916)- Huston P. Padgett, aged 79 years and 11 months, died at his home near Ash Saturday. He is survived by four sons, James, Will, Joe and John, and by one daughter, Mrs. Ben Bates. Mr. Padgett was a substantial and highly esteemed citizen and his death is deeply deplored by many friends. Funeral services were conducted Monday by Reverend Green, after which burial was made at the Hughes cemetery.
