Obituary (Madison (MO) Times, June 14, 1917)- John J. Pagett died at his home north of Ash Friday evening after a week's illness. The immediate cause of death being pneumonia fever. He was 72 years of age and a substantial upright christian gentleman. Deceased is survived by his wife and eight children, two boys and six girls. They are: Emmett Pagett, of Ash; Otto Pagett, of Moberly; Mrs. Isaac Adams, of near Moberly; Mrs. Coleman Clark, of Hannibal; Mrs. Allen Wilson, of Moberly; Mrs. Ed Helensmith, of Venice, Ill.; Mrs. T. R. Bell, of Moberly; and Mrs. Sam Blackwell, of near Ash. Funeral services were conducted from the home Sunday afternoon by Rev. Showmaker and interment was made in the Hughes cemetery.
