Carl Phares dies following stroke.
Carl Phares, 52, owner of Presley Auto Parts No. 2, at Bells Highway and DesVoigne Rd., suffered a sudden stroke and died Thursday at11:30 p.m. at his home next door to his business.
Born in Grayson County June 22, 1905, son of Mr. & Mrs. Roy Phares, he married Lizzie Mae Morrow, in Sherman Dec. 24, 1922. He had moved to Denison from Carlsbad, N.M. 8 years ago and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: two sons Roy Lee of Silverton Colorado, and Tom J. of Tampa, Florida, a daughter Mrs. Jim Watkins, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; his parents Mr. & Mrs. Roy Phares of Denison; a brother Jack Phares of Denison; a sister Mrs. Lizzie Millaway of Clarksville and nine grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were pending today at noon under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home.
