Paul B. Lackey, 76, 5503 E. Jackson, died Monday in Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Fentress County, Tenn., he moved to Muncie in 1935 and was employed at Broderick Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1977. He attended Gethsemane United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Louise Wagner Lackey; a son, Ronald Lackey of Muncie; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Carolyn) Dennis, Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, Harry Lackey, Farmland, and Odell Lackey, Muncie; six sisters, Pearl Brooks, Hutchinson, Kan., Retha Bell, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Edward (Dorothy) Paille, Anderson, Mrs. Don (Barbara) Kemp, Middletown, Janice Shirey, Daleville, and Mrs. Alvin (Nella) Lowery, Muncie; seven grandchildren, Cindy Priddy, Lana Stamper and Rhonda Snider, all of Muncie, Scott Dennis, Memphis, Tenn., Kipp Dennis, Dayton, and Trev and Marni Echols, both of Norman, Okla.; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Echols, in 1978.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. Calling at the mortuary will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before services Thursday. Memorials may be directed to the Delaware County Cancer Society, Little Red Door.
